Ron entered the mortgage business as a loan officer in 1965. He helped found a mortgage banking firm in 1967 and rose through the ranks until he became President and CEO in 1981. Ron continued in that position until the firm joined forces with a community bank in the Spring of 2000.
In the Summer of 2000 Ron left the administrative duties of the bank to return to what he really enjoyed..helping individual clients with their financing needs. He joined Cherry Creek Mortgage Company because they were large enough to serve his clients, but small enough to care. They combine "high tech" with "high touch". That is, they offer the most current technology, but still firmly hold to the belief that long term relationships based on mutual trust will always be the foundation of any successful business.
Ron has lived in Castro Valley for over 34 years, where he and his wife (of 41 years!) raised their son and daughter. Always trying to blend his business activities with an active role in community affairs, Ron was a founding director of two community banks, past president of the local Chamber of Commerce, and former "Business Person of the Year" in the Castro Valley community. He has always been a vigorous supporter of the public schools, was a long time member of the board of directors of the East Bay Cancer Support Group, and is currently an active member of the board of directors of the Eden Medical Center Foundation
Ron's overriding business philosophy is "If you take care of people, business takes care of itself". That philosophy has resulted in relationships that enable Ron to still enjoy the business after more than 40 years!
